Prayde is built to be private, calm and local-first. The app is designed to help Muslims plan their day around Salah, track prayers, use Qibla, manage exemptions and, if they choose, sync period logs with Apple Health.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Prayde uses, how it is handled, and the choices you have.

Some data may be processed by Apple, Stripe, Supabase or email/support providers when you choose to use features that depend on them, such as App Store purchases, website support forms or optional support payments.
Information Prayde May Use
1. App Data Stored On Your Device
Prayde may store the following locally on your device:
- Prayer calculation preferences
- Manual location settings
- Theme, accent colour and app icon choices
- Prayer tracking status, including prayed, missed, made-up and excused prayers
- Make-up plan settings
- Period and illness exemption logs
- Exemption diary notes
- Local events created in Prayde
- Notification preferences
- Widget preferences
This information is used only to provide app functionality.
2. Location Data
If you allow location access, Prayde uses your location to:
- Calculate accurate local Salah times
- Help provide Qibla direction
- Update prayer times when your location changes
Prayde does not sell your location data.
Prayde does not use location data for advertising.
If you do not allow location access, you can use a manual location instead.
3. Calendar Data
If you allow Calendar access, Prayde can:
- Display existing Apple Calendar events
- Add, edit or delete events you create through Prayde
- Show possible clashes between events and prayer times
If you do not allow Calendar access, Prayde can still create local events saved only inside the app.
Prayde does not upload your calendar data to a Prayde server.
4. Apple Health Data
Apple Health sync is optional.
If you choose to enable Apple Health, Prayde may request permission to read and/or write menstrual-flow period data. This is used only to support period exemption tracking.
Prayde may use Apple Health data to:
- Detect active or recent period logs
- Suggest starting an exemption period
- Import period history into Prayde's exemption diary
- Write Prayde-created period logs back to Apple Health, if you choose
Prayde does not use Apple Health data for advertising, marketing, profiling or data mining.
Prayde does not share Apple Health data with third parties.
Prayde does not store personal health information in iCloud.
You can withdraw Apple Health permission at any time in the iOS Health app or iOS Settings.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, Prayde may send:
- Prayer start reminders
- Upcoming prayer reminders
- Event reminders
- Dhikr reminders during exemption periods
Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Prayde does not use a server to send personalised notification content.
6. Support Messages
If you contact Prayde through the website or by email, we may collect:
- Your name, if provided
- Your email address
- Your message
- Any details you choose to include
This information is used only to reply to you and provide support.
7. Optional Support Payments
Prayde is free and does not require a subscription.
If you choose to support Prayde through an in-app purchase or website payment link, payment processing is handled by Apple, Stripe or another payment provider depending on where the payment is made.
Prayde does not receive your full card details.
We may receive limited payment metadata such as amount, currency, payment status and transaction reference where needed for support, accounting or fraud prevention.
How We Use Information
Prayde uses information to:
- Provide accurate prayer times
- Show Qibla direction
- Display your calendar and planner
- Track prayers and make-up plans
- Manage period and illness exemptions
- Sync optional Apple Health period logs
- Schedule notifications
- Provide widgets
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain and improve the app
What We Do Not Do
Prayde does not:
- Sell your data
- Use your Health data for advertising
- Use your location for advertising
- Require an account
- Require Calendar, Location, Health or Notifications access to use the whole app
- Unlock extra features for paying users
- Share your prayer tracking or exemption logs with other users
Legal Bases
Where applicable, Prayde relies on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent, where you grant permissions such as Location, Calendar, Health or Notifications
- Contract, where processing is needed to provide the app or support you request
- Legitimate interests, such as maintaining the app, responding to support requests and preventing abuse
- Legal obligation, where records must be kept for tax, accounting or compliance reasons
Data Sharing
Prayde may use trusted service providers for limited purposes:
- Apple, for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, HealthKit, Calendar, Location and Notifications
- Stripe or payment providers, for optional website support payments
- Supabase or website infrastructure providers, for contact/support forms if used
- Email providers, for replying to support messages
- Hosting providers, for operating the website
These providers only process information as needed to provide their services.
Data Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset it, uninstall the app or remove specific logs.
Support emails and contact form messages may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, maintain support records, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.
Payment records may be kept where required for tax, accounting or compliance.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete many types of app data directly inside Prayde, including local events, prayer tracking data and exemption logs where supported.
You can remove app permissions at any time through iOS Settings.
You can delete Health data through the Apple Health app.
If you contact us and want support messages deleted, email hello@kadeashiq.co.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete information
- Object to or restrict some processing
- Withdraw consent
- Complain to a data protection authority

Children
Prayde is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
